The League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) is a pro-tournament league developed by Riot Games as the highest tier for competitive LoL in the USA and Canada. The LCS is one of twelve regions featured in the League of Legends competitive ecosystem and one of the four main premier leagues alongside the LCK, LPL and LEC.
The idea of the LCS has existed since League of Legends' inception in 2009. The league was initially divided into two regions, NA LCS for Canada and the USA and the EU LCS for all European countries. In 2018, Riot Games switched to a franchising system with just ten permanent teams as partners. The LCS brand was then solely retained by America and Canada. At the same time, Europe rebranded to the LoL European Championship, otherwise known as LEC.
LCS now features two splits annually: a Spring Split and a Summer Split. There are also two major international tournaments dividing these Splits: the Mid-Season Invitational and League of Legends World Championship, which typically take place in May and October, respectively.
The fourteenth season of LCS commenced on January 20, 2024 with the Spring Split. Just eight teams will compete, compared to the previous total of ten teams. Despite this major change, the prize pool remains the same, with the winner being Team Liquid. The second seasonal split, Summer 2024, starts on June 15.
The LCS is a professional League of Legends league designed for American and Canadian players to showcase their skills on the big stage. During the two splits of the year, ten teams will compete to establish themselves as th top dog of their region, often for huge prize pools and invites to international competitions.
League of Legends betting is growing exponentially as the most sought-after and bet-on esports in history, taking over the competitive scene one match at a time.

In the regular season group stage for 2024, eight competing LCS teams face off twice a week for eight weeks. All NA LCS games are played in a double round-robin format, and matches are best-of-one with absolutely no room for error. Except for the Grand Final, the double-elimination bracket is active throughout the playoffs.
All matches are played on LAN at two main venues: the Riot Games Arena, previously the LCS Arena, and the PNC Arena, both of which are located in Los Angeles.
The top six teams qualify for the LCS Playoffs. The teams ranked first through until fourth qualify for the upper bracket semi-finals, while fifth and sixth will battle it out in the lower bracket instead of being eliminated from the tournament. The top two teams from the playoffs will receive an MSI invite.

Eight competing LCS teams fight for the lion's share of the exciting $200,000 prize pool. The LCS champions and runner-up in second also get an invitation to the MSI in May.
The prize money is distributed between the top two teams and the two runners-up: $100,00 is awarded to the champions and $50,000 to the runner-up. Third place gets a consolation prize of $30,000, and fourth place takes home the remainder of $20,000. The remaining teams go home with nothing. While other leagues like LCK and LEC also compete for Championship Points, the LCS doesn't include that.
The pro-League of Legends scene is full of stiff competition, with top players competing. For 2024, the league has since been restructured as an eight-team league, meaning popular teams like Evil Geniuses and Golden Guardians are no longer competing.
Some teams to watch include Team Liquid and Cloud9. TSM are overall the most successful LCS team to ever compete, with around seven LCS titles to their name. However, they are not competing in the 2024 season.
Without further ado, here is the full roster of teams competing in the LCS in 2024.

The beauty of League of Legends tournaments is that the winner is never set in stone. Predicting who the winner will be can be difficult, creating huge value for betting opportunities.
